Description
Collins Alboz Omeprazol 20mg 60 capsules (2 PACK)
Alboz 20 mg is a brand name for omeprazole, a medication used to treat excess stomach acid, including conditions like GERD, stomach ulcers, and heartburn. It works by blocking the production of acid and is available both over-the-counter (OTC) for heartburn and with a doctor’s prescription for other conditions.
What it’s used for
Heartburn: Alboz 20 mg (omeprazole) can be purchased without a prescription to treat frequent heartburn that occurs two or more days a week.
GERD and ulcers: A doctor may prescribe it to treat more severe conditions like erosive esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Other uses: It is also used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition where the stomach produces too much acid, and can be prescribed with antibiotics to treat ulcers caused by H. pylori bacteria.
Important considerations
Dosage for heartburn: The OTC version should be taken as a 14-day course, once a day for 14 days in a row. You should not take it for more than 14 days or repeat a 14-day course more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor.
Not for immediate relief: It is not intended for the immediate relief of heartburn symptoms.
Side effects: Common side effects can include diarrhea, headache, and stomach pain. Serious side effects are rare but can include kidney problems or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
Consult a doctor: Always talk to a pharmacist or doctor before taking any new medication, especially if you are pregnant or have other health conditions.
